First and foremost,
Dr. H C Verma wrote "Concepts of Physics," which was published by Bharati Bhavan. The book is split into two parts. The first volume is dedicated to mechanics, waves, and optics, while the second volume is dedicated to thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and modern physics. Students like the book because of its broad coverage, simple language, clear concepts, good problems, and lack of errors. We strongly recommend this book to serious physics students. The book not only aids students in competitive examinations such as the IITJEE, but it also makes physics fun.
Starting from the beginning, this book explains Physics concepts in a clear and understandable manner. It is highly recommended for JEE preparation because the JEE assesses students' conceptual strength, and this book provides an easy way for students to learn the concepts involved in the subject. The organisation and simplicity of this book contribute to the ease with which it is possible to learn physics.
Organizing:
The book begins with introductory chapters that introduce all of the mathematical tools (such as calculus) that the reader will need to deal with all of the mathematics in the subsequent chapters. This is in contrast to many other books, which do not provide any necessary mathematical foundation and assume the student already has it. The fundamental mathematical concepts covered in these introductory chapters prepare students to solve a wide range of Physics problems during their JEE preparation. The topics of the chapters are presented in a systematic order, which means that there will never be an instance where a topic in the most recent chapter refers to a topic in a 'future' chapter.
The English language:
There is no complicated English in the book. The language used is straightforward, and the phenomena/situations/examples described are mostly drawn from everyday life. In one of the example problems, for example, there is a question about the elongation required for a catapult to throw a stone to a specific point. This question aids in the introduction of physics to the student through real-life examples. It can be used by beginners to learn JEE Physics because of its simplicity in both language and explanation.
JEE Exam Preparation:
This book has been used by JEE students for the past twenty years, and they have all passed the exam. As a result, you must not overlook this book. A common issue that many JEE aspirants face is that they study multiple books at the same time, which leads to confusion. Only read one book at a time, and make sure it's a good one, such as Concepts of Physics by HC Verma. You may consult other books as well, but not at the expense of adding to your confusion.
Downsides:
In general, the book covers all of the topics covered in the JEE syllabus. I have no criticisms for any of the chapters. However, the book would have been even better if it had included a greater number and variety of problems. The student should address this issue by working through problems from other books, previous years' question papers, and test series, among other things.
If you learn the concepts in this book and solve numerous problems from other sources, your physics preparation for JEE will be complete.
Contents:
The Concepts of Physics Part 1 contains mechanics, waves and optics. The Concepts of Physics Part 2 contains heat and thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, and modern physics.
